Animal Camps

Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS) animal camps are a fun educational experience led by trained educators that encourages respect and understanding for all living beings. Animal Camps are offered in the Summer, Spring and for children ages 6 – 14. These camps book up quickly, so watch for registration dates and make your plans!

Our Summer Animal Camps run for nine weeks ( M–F, 9am to 4pm) in the summer, beginning at the end of June through August. There are three different week long sessions designed to educate and entertain campers, including:

All About Our Pets (Ages 6 -12). Campers learn all they need to know about what their pet needs to live a happy, healthy life! Each day is dedicated to the care of different types of pets, including reptiles and fish. This is an interactive and exciting experience. Cost: $215 per child per week. ($172 Week 2 for *July 4 holiday, no camp)

  • Week 1:  June 24-28  FULL
  • Week 2:  July 1-5*  FULL
  • Week 3:  July 8-12  FULL

Animal Keepers (Ages 11 – 14, No Exceptions). These camp sessions are designed for older children interested in working in animal care and learning more about domestic animals. Campers work directly with our staff and shelter pets to learn more about opportunities in animal welfare. Students will also earn community service hours. Cost: $240 per child per week. 

  • Week 4:  July 15-19  FULL
  • Week 5:  July 22-26  FULL
  • Week 6:  July 29-August 2  FULL
  • Week 9:  August 19-23  FULL

Wildlife Among Us (Ages 6 -12). During our final sessions of the summer, campers learn all about the wildlife among us and how we can help preserve their fragile habitats. There will also be plenty of opportunities to meet our adoptable dogs, cats, rabbits, as well as other animals. Cost: $215 per child per week.

  • Week 7:  August 5-9  FULL
  • Week 8:  August 12-16  FULL

Our Spring (April) camps are themed, week-long sessions. Using hands-on games, activities, arts and crafts, guest speakers and of course live animals, children are taught about animals and their importance in our world. Each day of camp provides a window into the life of shelter animals, rescued animals, wildlife conservation and animal care! 

Appropriate for ages: 6–12 years old
Time: 9:00am–4:00pm M-F
Cost: $215 for the week.

  • Week 1: April 1–5  FULL
  • Week 2: April 8–12  FULL

  • Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis and all fees must be paid at time of registration.
  • Please ensure your choice of dates and session is correct. We regret that we are unable to make any changes once your registration has been officially processed.
  • We only allow campers to register for one week of camp. If interested in more than one week your child can be put on the wait-list.
  • Camp sessions are limited to 15 campers each week of camp..
  • Please read over our CAMP FAQs for more information regarding camp before registering.
  • Please note we have age limits and your child must be of the appropriate age to attend certain camps.
