Answers to Common Questions
Your Questions, Answered
We’ve compiled answers to the most common questions we hear from families—so you can feel informed, confident, and supported.
What types of care does Brightwood offer?
Brightwood provides two levels of in-home care:
- Essential Care: Compassionate, day-to-day support for personal care, companionship, medication reminders, recovery support, and more.
- Premier Care: Our concierge-level service combining Essential Care with lifestyle planning, home coordination, and a dedicated Care Concierge for families who desire a more elevated experience.
What makes Brightwood different from traditional home care?
We go beyond checklists and hourly tasks to deliver care that’s deeply personal, consistent, and coordinated. Families choose Brightwood for:
- CarePros selected for empathy, professionalism, and emotional intelligence
- Tailored care plans and personality-based matching
- Proactive communication and 24/7 support
- Optional BrightAssist™ in-home virtual monitoring at no additional cost
- Coordination with physicians, private staff, and family advisors
Who are your Care Professionals?
All Brightwood CarePros are:
- Carefully vetted, insured W-2 employees
- Required to have 3+ years of professional experience
- Trained in dementia care, chronic conditions, and emotional intelligence
- Matched based on lifestyle, personality, and care needs
- Supervised in the field with ongoing mentorship and development
What is BrightAssist™ and how does it work?
BrightAssist™ is our optional in-home virtual monitor, offered at no cost to all clients. It discreetly supports wellness and safety by:
- Detecting potential changes in health or behavior
- Providing real-time alerts to our care team
- Offering family insights through regular Care Reports
- Supporting early intervention to help prevent hospitalizations
BrightAssist™ is always optional and designed to enhance—never replace—the warmth of in-person care.
Do you coordinate with outside professionals like doctors or estate planners?
Yes. We collaborate closely with:
- Concierge physicians and hospital discharge planners
- Estate planners, fiduciaries, and advisors
- Private staff (housekeepers, drivers, chefs, etc.)
- Aging-in-place consultants and wellness providers
Our goal is to ensure your care plan supports your full lifestyle and long-term goals.
Where do you provide services?
We serve clients across Greater Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tucson, and surrounding Arizona communities, including:
Apache Junction, Avondale, Buckeye, Carefree, Cave Creek, Chandler, El Mirage, Fountain Hills, Gila Bend, Gilbert, Glendale, Goodyear, Guadalupe, Litchfield Park, Mesa, Paradise Valley, Peoria, Phoenix, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise, Tempe, Tolleson, Wickenburg, Youngtown.
Do you accept insurance?
We accept:
- VA benefits
- Long-term care insurance (LTCI)
- Private pay and flexible funding options
Note: Medicare generally does not cover in-home supportive care. (It does cover Home Health, which includes short-term skilled services like physical therapy. Many clients need both and we regularly coordinate with Home Health providers.)
Do you require long-term contracts?
No. Our services are flexible and can be adjusted, paused, or discontinued with 7 days’ notice in most cases. We work around your evolving needs.
What if my caregiver isn’t the right fit?
Your comfort is our priority. We offer a 100% match guarantee and will promptly rematch you with a new CarePro if something doesn’t feel right. No questions asked.
How quickly can care begin?
In many cases, we can begin care within 24 hours—sometimes the same day for urgent needs. However, a short consultation allows us to better understand your needs and match you thoughtfully.
Do you send the same caregiver each time?
Consistency is key. We prioritize the same CarePro for every visit whenever possible. If a substitute is needed, we will always communicate in advance and ensure they are fully briefed and up to our standard.
What are your minimums?
To ensure consistent care and maintain quality, we do have a minimum number of hours per visit and per week. These vary based on your plan, and we can walk you through them during your consultation.
What does it cost?
Essential Care is billed at a standard hourly rate, which varies slightly depending on location and service hours.
Premier Care includes hourly care plus a flat monthly fee for personalized planning, coordination, and lifestyle services.
Some individual services (like chef-prepared meals) may also incur direct costs.
We invite you to schedule a private consultation to receive a customized quote based on your goals, schedule, and preferences.
